LAW Creative Celebrating International Women’s Day
Marked annually on March 8th International Women’s Day is a day to:
- Celebrate women’s achievements
- Educate and raise awareness for women’s equality
- Lobby for accelerated gender parity
As a full-service agency, we are lucky to be kept busy on a vast array of projects, projects where our female colleagues are a real driving force to our day-to-day workings. That is why it saddened us that throughout history women have been proven to be much more likely to downplay their achievements in the workplace and be heavily critical of themselves.
At LAW Creative we are proud to champion our female colleagues, their achievements and career progression.
Taking inspiration from International Women’s Day and it being Women’s history month, we asked our female colleagues to reflect on their career to date. Focusing on where they started and where they have got to now, in the hopes they would recognise all that they have achieved. We also invited each of them to share one piece of advice that they would give to their younger selves in the hopes that our team can inspire the next generation of females in the marketing industry.

Advice to my younger self: Feel more confident and stop overthinking. You have skills and strengths, so don’t be too hard on yourself.
Anushia Johnson

Advice to my younger self: Try to surround yourself with good people who you trust and respect and a career to be proud of will follow.
Louise Donaghey

Advice to my younger self: BE BRAVE – You learn so much more by asking questions. It’s ok if you don’t know the answer.

Advice to my younger self: Don’t worry if you don’t know, just be willing to learn!

Advice to my younger self: Your weaknesses are not your enemy. By understanding and embracing your weaknesses, you can use them to find opportunities to learn new skills.

Advice to my younger self: Don’t be afraid to speak up and share your contributing thoughts towards the company you work for, you are as valuable as any other employee, your thoughts matter too. More importantly, if you fail, try, and try again – life is a journey, a learning curve, learn and do better next time.
